At the 58th UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition held from Jun. 7th to 11th, 2009 in Vienna, capital of Austria, the only bus & coach builder, Youngman Automotive Group (hereinafter referred to as Youngman), which participated in the high-profile event, is particularly eye-catching. Dubbed as the leading brand in China’s high-end bus & coach market, Youngman brought its new coach model JNP6122G-2 on display to visitors across the globe. While enjoying extensive media reports from Xinhua News Agency and Omnibus Spiegel, a well-established periodical for professionals involved in bus & coach building industry in Europe, the company has shown China’s enterprises’ unwavering determination to rival with their global counterparts.

Targeting at the high-end bus & coach market, Youngman has set fourteen new records in the industry and played a leading role in compiling nine industrial standards. Its luxury coach worth over RMB 1.3 million (about USD 190,114) takes up to over 80% of the domestic market while that priced at over RMB 2 million (about USD 292,417) has no rivals yet so far. In addition, its 18-meter BRT city buses and luxury double-deckers take the dominant position in China.

While introducing advanced bus production techniques from Germany-based Neoplan Bus GmbH since 1993, Youngman has been constantly making innovations in order to cater to the real market needs. Thanks to its quality products and premium post-sale services, the company has been gaining increasing recognition among customers from both home and abroad.

Talks on possible deal get under way

In Aug. 2008, Youngman successfully received EEC registration and E-mark registration from Luxemburg’s Ministry of Transportation, becoming the first domestic auto enterprise that is qualified to enter the EU market. For over half a year, a number of the company’s 18-meter and 12-meter city buses took part in over 90 rigorous tests and were favorably approved by the bus jury.  The successful registration from EU’s member country is of great significance to Youngman. On one hand, the company is entering a new development stage to compete with those well-recognized bus giants on the same field. On the other hand, it can enjoy green light to market its products in those developed countries. Johnny Lim, General Manager from a five-star hotel in Singapore remarked that Youngman’s coach is of the world’s highest quality, but of very competitive price.

In 2006, Youngman set up its Overseas Dept. to expand its presence abroad. Under the slogan “Youngman Bus from China to the World”, the company has rolled out a series of new bus & coach models targeting at different markets. In less than three years, its products have successfully made their presence in dozens of countries and regions, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Russia, Romania, Algeria, Peru, Chile, Venezuela, America, ROK, Thailand, Singapore, and Kazakhstan.

In May, 2006, Youngman exported a batch of luxury coaches which are priced at over RMB 1 million (about USD 146,242), marking a new milestone in China’s history in exporting such high-end products. Two months later, the company became the first bus builder from China that sold its high-end coaches to South Korea. In Nov. 2007, Youngman double-deckers went into service in Singapore. In Apr. 2008, the company secured a deal of 2,000 units of 18-meter low-floor city buses with an Iranian bus operator…With all these staggering achievements, Youngman has blazed a new path in its internationalization process.

While exploring the overseas market, Youngman has never slackened its efforts to upgrade its post-sale service. Aiming high, it started building its overseas service network as early as the dawn of the new century. With no precedent to draw experience from, the company has made extensive research and has set up its overseas service system with its own characteristics.
