In 2007, China Road Transport Association Transportation Institute conducted a survey and found out that high-capacity double-deck coaches improve fuel economy and reduce emissions remarkably under certain conditions. In 2008, jointly applied by the Transportation Administration Bureaus of Sichuan, Fujian, Liaoning and Chongqing and ratified by the Energy Office attached to Ministry of Transport (MOT), the Application of High-capacity Double-deck Coaches was launched as the second round of energy-saving demonstration program by MOT.

The high-capacity double-deck coaches can not only meet the rising demands for road passenger transport, but also provide a new means for coach operators to adjust their fleet structure. In China, although the bus & coach building industry has only witnessed fast growth in some recent decades, the manufacturing techniques of high-capacity double-deck coaches have already reached the advanced level around the globe. The rising popularity of such coach model in Europe and Japan will surely help the nation get fully prepared for its promotion. Moreover, as China, with a 1.3 billion population, is constantly upgrading its highway networks across the nation, the road passenger transport will continue to offer people more convenience to travel around. Given above, it is believed that the high-capacity double-deck coaches promise a huge potential market.

Since the first Youngman high-capacity double-deck coach was put into service in 2005, a total number of 300 units of such model had been serving passengers on the road in China by the end of 2008. In addition, the bus builder has also exported its high-capacity double-deck coaches to South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Russia.

As the financial crisis hit China in late 2008, many coach operators decided to adopt coach products with more stable economic returns. In Jan. 2009, Hubei Road Passenger Transport Group bought four Youngman JNP6137S, also dubbed as Carrier on Land. After their initial operation during the spring festival, the travel peak season in China, the coach operator saw its profits doubled. Moreover, passengers expressed their great satisfaction after traveling with the coach.
