All 40,000 tickets available were completely sold out within 10 hours. Given the sold-out success, a high official with the tire maker believes that the event will act as a great image booster for Kumho Tire worldwide. The official also expressed his satisfaction with the close cooperative ties set up with the football club.
Through sponsoring the Korea Tour of Manchester United in 2007, Kumho Tire received extensive media publicity. As a result, its sales volume worldwide experienced significant upward movement. In UK, the company’s sales were up by 56.5% in 2008 as compared with that in 2006. In China, the tire maker’s sales also went up by 23% year on year in 2008.
Apart from ROK, the Asia Tour will also take the football club to China, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
