Chinese Bus Gas Engine Technology Seminar-Weichai Power Gas Engine Technology Achievement Evaluation Conference was held by Science and Technology branch of CUPTA in Weifang on June 6, 2009.
In this conference, buses enterprises, coaches manufacturers, natural gas matching enterprises share their achievements in natural gas buses development. Buses industry consumes a lot of oil, and its oil consumption accounts for 30 percent of total public transportation cost. In order to realize energy-saving and emission reduction plan, the experts suggest: first, enhance the engine and the gearbox driving chain efficiency, enhance the existing gasoline and diesel buses fuel oil efficiency and the existing engine power, and strive for green energy-saving buses; second, popularize green new energy buses; third, popularize CNG, LNG clean fuel gas energy-saving buses. Currently, there are more than 60,000 units CNG、LNG buses in China, accounts for 16 percent of total buses, scattered in 22 provinces,cities,and autonomous regions .With West-East natural gas transmission project, the gas using area will extend from western area to middle area, and large and medium buses will change to medium and small buses, more and more buses will use natural gas. In the future 3-5 years, CNG buses market share will increase by 5 percent, and there is brilliant future for CNG, LNGwith clean fuel as power engines.
