This will be the first batch of Foton hybrid AUV buses to be sold outside mainland China. It is reported that the new bus fleet will be put into service in Taipei in Feb. 2010.

WU Zhongxi, General Manager of a Taiwan-based bus service company, disclosed that it is entrusted by Taipei Municipal Government to buy new energy buses from mainland. After a comprehensive research, it found that Foton AUV hybrid buses are not only equipped with state-of-art technologies, but are also reasonably priced. The General Manager also pointed out that the first batch of 75 buses worth of RMB 75 million (about USD 10.9719 million) is just the beginning of its business cooperation with the mainland bus builder and it will continue to expand its Foton AUV hybrid bus fleet to over 700 units in the near future.

In addition, Foton Motor is in talks with auto sales companies from Britain and the United States about exporting the hybrid AUV buses to these two markets. Foton hybrid buses are likely to be exported to more other overseas markets in the future.

Since its production started at the end of 2007, the hybrid version of Foton's AUV bus has come into public transportation service in some Chinese cities, such as Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Shenzhen, but it hasn't been exported yet.
