A Cornerstone-Laying Ceremony jointly held by FAW and Dalian
On the same day, Dalian Public Transport Group inked a deal worth RMB 160 million (about USD 23.4031 million) with FAW Bus Division Dalian Bus Factory. According to the deal, the bus operator will buy 150 units of hybrid buses and 110 units of CNG buses.
XU Jianyi, General Manager of FAW Group, pointed out at the ceremony that the establishment of the base is an important part for the execution of company’s strategic plan on new energy vehicles and it will mark as a new milestone for the cooperation between the well established vehicle builder and Dalian municipal government.
Located in Dalian Economic & Technological Development Area, the base with a total investment of RMB 600 million (about USD 87.7573 million) covers a land area of 138,000 square meters. Equipped with the state-of-art production equipment, the base is expected to complete its construction in July, 2010. By 2013, it will have an annual production capacity of 3,000 units of buses, half of which are going to be powered by new energy.
