Fuel-saving Elite Driver Competition held by Yutong
Currently, new energy vehicles are widely regarded as an important means to promote energy saving and emission reduction work. However, the new sector is still faced with a host of technical challenges. Some insiders has rightfully pointed out that the traditional vehicles will still be in the mainstream of the vehicle market in the next three decades. FENG Fei, director-general of Industrial Economy Research Department, Development Research Center of State Council, also recently made it quite clear that attention should be attached to the development of traditional vehicles. Given above, it is of significant importance to bolster the fuel efficiency of traditional vehicles in some years to come.
According to statistics, the fuel consumption of China’s vehicles is 25% higher than that of Europe, 20% higher than that of Japan, and 10% higher than that of the USA. Thus, how to achieve high fuel economy is still a big challenge confronting the auto and transport industries. Measures, such as rolling out new technical standards for road transport vehicles and further enhancing vehicle drivers’driving skills are more than just necessary.
Under such a backdrop, Ministry of Transport hopes to hold competitions on energy saving for drivers and organize some training sessions for fuel saving among these drivers in a bid to bolster fuel economy of China’s vehicles. Yutong, the leading enterprise in China’s bus & coach building industry, by coincidence, has been organizing related activities under the theme of “More Value for Customers”. Thus having a shared goal to achieve, the government and the enterprise come together to organize “Yutong Cup”Energy Saving Competition.
To realize sustainable development, Yutong Bus has already been pursuing a green growth path. Its Yutong Industrial Park has been recognized as “A Demonstration Park for Industrial Tourism” in China.
In recent years, the bus builder was constantly strengthening its investments in research of new technologies for energy saving and emission reduction. WU Xiaoguang, Assistant Chief Engineer of Yutong Bus revealed that the company has already seen some substantial results after focusing on cutting weight and improving fuel economy of traditional buses & coaches.
After some last-time revisions being made, the competition will officially kick off in early June across the nation. It is expected to attract 500,000 enterprises and 50 million audiences in total.
