Large -Scale Bus Companies Increase the Shares in the Market

According to related data, YITONGSANLONG (YITONG refers to Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd, SANLONG refers to Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., Ltd ,Xiamen Golden Dragon Van Co. Ltd, Suzhou King Long Bus Co., Ltd) has 47.67% of the degree of market concentration, up by 1.72% as against the first quarter. YITONGSANLONG has the degree of market concentration increased for two consecutive months. Just a month ago, YITONGSANLONG has degree of market concentration 0.37% higher than Jan-Feb 2009.

 

The overall shares of large-scale bus companies increase for two consecutive months, the pressure for medium-small scale bus companies is evident. According to Yu Zhenqing, expert in the Auto industry, bad news come one after another in 2009, firstly, the financial crisis continuously upgrade early in 2009, bus exports fall sharply; followed deterioration of the domestic bus companies credit environment, the railway passenger line continues to squeeze the road passenger traffic; and then auto sales go to the countryside, micro-car takes more shares in the rural market than the rural passenger vehicle. All these contribute to the decline of the sales. The deteriorated situation advances the concentration of enterprise shares and the changes in the market.


Most persons who are in charge of large-scale, medium-scale bus companies are cautiously optimistic about the situation. At the same time, the good policies for commercial vehicles concentrate mainly on the support of truck industry (such as direct purchasing light truck instead of changing for new ones, etc.); it may be difficult to benefit the bus sub-sectors (see note). Therefore, the medium-small scale bus companies will continue to lose markets shares, and degree of market concentration of large-scale bus companies will continue to rise slowly.
 

Note: The majority of experts think that the support policies for new energy vehicle have both advantages and disadvantages, on one hand, it will increase investment in public transportation systems, and on the other hand, it will also reduce increasement of conventional diesel buses.
