In the first four months of 2009, Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yutong Bus) built 6,072 units, down by 27.04% y/y. In the meantime, its sales volume stood at 6,224 units, down by 29.29% y/y. In Apr. alone, the bus builder manufactured 2,361 units and sold 2,428 units.
Yutong Bus (stock code at Shanghai Stock Exchange: 600066) released the report on its production and sales volume of April on May 6.
In the first four months, the company saw a dramatic decline in the production and sale of its large- and medium-sized buses. Comparatively speaking, its light-duty buses performed relatively well.
The production and sales volume of its large-sized buses were down by 30.09% and 37.01% y/y respectively while those of its medium-sized buses went down by nearly 30%. In terms of its light-duty buses, the sales volume went up by 6.84% while the production volume was down by 2.13%.
In the first quarter, Yutong Bus realized a net profit of RMB 548.941 million (about USD 80.4757 million), down by 80.82% y/y. Its production and sales volume in Apr. still failed to bring signs of recovery.
On May 6, the share of Yutong Bus went up slightly by 0.73% to close at RMB 13.8 (about USD 2.023). In the same day, Shanghai stock exchange rose by 0.98%.
