Three years ago, Shanghai based Shenlong Bus Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shenlong) was a newly established company with little fame. Three years later, the bus builder has transformed itself beyond recognition.
On Apr. 9, 2009, Shenlong started the operation of its new factory located in Xinzhuang, Shanghai. With a total investment of RMB 320 million (about USD 46.9172 million), the factory has increased the bus builder’s annual production capacity to 10,000 units.

Not content with rising production capacity, FAN Wanshun, General Manager of Shenlong has also been aiming at narrowing the quality gap between China’s top four bus builders and Shenlong products. To achieve that goal, Shenlong first focused on learning avidly from its superiors. Currently, it has passed ISO9001: 2000 Quality Management System Certificate, ISO/TS16949 Quality Management Certificate, ISO14001 Environment Management System and OHSA18001 Occupational Health Safety Management System Certificate.
According to FAN Wanshun, 98% of the company’s buses & coaches can meet the quality inspection.

Located in Shanghai, Shenlong is also aiming high and is making every effort to integrate itself into the global market. Its continued deepening cooperative ties with Switzerland-based Aocan Co. (transliteration) and US-based BCI have further opened its eyes to look beyond China.
In addition, the adoption of its new logo at the opening day of Busworld Asia 2009 in Shanghai back in Apr. has sent a clear message to the public that the company is now positioning itself on the level field with its international counterparts. To date, it has made public its Planning Book on Consistent Production Guarantee after referring to North American DOT and EU’s related certification standards.
