The first batch of 50 Wuzhoulong hybrid buses powered by diesel engines built by Dongfeng Commins started their service in Shenzhen Public Transport in 2008. After one year’s operation, their consistent performance and high fuel efficiency have won both customers’ and passengers’ hearts. Currently, the 50 hybrid buses running on Shenzhen streets can improve fuel economy by 30%. Dongfeng Commins is now producing the second batch of electronically controlled engines for hybrid coaches for Shenzhen Wuzhoulong.
