BAIC Registered Robust Growth in Q1

In the first quarter of 2009, without cutting its payrolls, Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd. (Hereinafter referred to BAIC) delivered an impressive performance. It churned out 252,527 units of vehicles and sold 250,526 units, up by 15.2% and 17.4% y/y respectively. Its sales growth rate outpaced the national average level by 13.57 percentage points. Spurred by the continued expansion of complete vehicle market, a majority of parts & accessories enterprises and trade businesses attached to BAIC also witnessed growth.
So far, BAIC has taken a series of measures aiming at “maintaining stable growth, boosting domestic demand and adjusting structure”. By taking the ride of such favorable policies as “Vehicle Going to Rural Areas” and “Acceleration of Retirement of Heavy-Polluting Vehicles”, BAIC is striving hard to edge its way into Global Top 500 Enterprises.
In the coming years, BAIC will continue to work hard in R&D of vehicles with its own brand. In the meantime, it will speed up the marketization of hybrid buses & coaches.
