XU Heyi, Two Strategies to Combat the Economic Slowdown

Apr. 19, 2009: “Opportunities and Challenges for the Development of Auto Industry under the Current International Financial Crisis---2009 Shanghai Auto Show Summit” was held at Shanghai International Convention Center. XU Heyi, president of Beiqi Group made a speech at the conference, providing his insights on how to tide over the current economic slowdown.
Under the present economic climate, Beiqi, the same as other automakers, is actively taking every possible measures to insure the achievement of its short-term goal as well as realization of its long-term development strategies.
In his speech, Mr. XU revealed that Beiqi is taking the following two measures in face of the current challenges.
On one hand, it is doing its utmost to strengthen Beijing auto industrial chain. While vigorously promoting the development of the auto parts & accessories industry in Beijing, it is sparing no efforts to boost the auto post-market service & trade sector.
On the other hand, Beiqi is strengthening its efforts to promote the brand image of its passenger vehicles. In addition, Beiqi Foton hybrid buses have been put into service in a handful of domestic cities since 2008. In order to make its own contributions for 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the automaker is also working very hard towards that goal.
