Apr. 8, 2009: Busworld Asia 2009, currently an influential bus & coach exhibition, jointly held by B.A.A.V., China Civil Engineering Society. Public Transport Society of China and VNU Exhibitions Asia, officially opened its curtain to the public at Shanghai New International Expo Center. Despite of the global financial crisis, the exhibition still managed to attract 180 exhibitors from 23 countries. Seven bus builders also chose to roll out their new bus models at the opening day.


China Bus Builders Weather through the Financial Crisis     


Despite of the unfavorable market environment, some bus builders in China still maintained a high growth momentum.


As one of the representatives of the first-tier bus builder circle, Suzhou Higer Bus rolled out seven new bus models at the exhibition, showing the company's confidence and strength to swim against the market tide and representing the latest technological advancements and the mainstream products in China's bus & coach industry.

Bringing its four new bus models, Shanghai Shenlong is also expected to launch its brand new logo during the exhibition. Its hybrid bus SLK6121 has reached the advanced level in China in terms of fuel economy, environmental friendliness, new material and new technologies. Moreover its new generation bus model SLK6120F6A3 has made significant breakthroughs in reliability, weight reduction and travel comforts.

Also present at the exhibition is Youngman Automobile, which has been taking the leading position in the high-end bus & coach market and blazing a new trail for China’s luxury bus & coach to the international market.

 

As an experienced bus & coach manufacturer, Zonda is displaying its 2009 new bus models, including double-decker A9L, tourist coach YCK6128HG, 18-meter articulated bus YCK6180HC, environmentally friendly bus YCK6128HC, Zonda Jinling double-decker, and much-awaited electric bus.

 

Irizar, featuring high safety standards, innovation, superior design and high reliability, rolled out its Irizar Xinshiji for medium- and long-distance transport and Irizar i4 CLE for urban public transport and travel routes.

 

Making its first appearance at the exhibition, Benz, a very accomplished player in the commercial vehicle market, will launch its new luxury coach Sprinter at the exhibition.  


New Energy and New Technologies, New Trend for Global Bus & Coach Industry


After 2008 Beijing Olympic Games drew its curtain, environmentally friendly buses & coaches with low or zero emission has become wildly known in the public. The upcoming 2010 Shanghai World Expo will provide another great opportunity for the further development of the new energy bus & coach.


As a black horse in the bus & coach industry, Bonluck Bus displays its JXK6120BLN and JXK6830CRE2 pure electric bus models. Another new comer, CSR Times brings another two fuel efficient and environmentally friendly bus models TEG6128SHEV and TEG6101PHEV.


As a bus manufacturer in the host city of the world expo, Shanghai Sunwin cannot afford to ignore the R&D of new energy buses and its hybrid and pure electric buses have become mature enough to hit the market.

Together with those complete bus builders, they will hold in-depth discussions about the application of new energy and new technologies on future bus & coach manufacturing industry.


European Experts Voicing Their Opinions on Bus & Coach Safe Operation


Safe operation has always been a hot topic in the bus & coach sector. During this year’s Busworld Asia, the organizers will also hold an international forum on “Bus Safe Operation Solution”. The lecturer, Dr. Patrick Botto, who has been researching bus and coach related accidents for over three decades, will share some new bus operation concepts from the European market. Moreover, a number of experts will hold face-to-face discussions on bus & coach design and improvement as well as driver training.

Another highlight of this year's exhibition is the match-making program launched by the organizers.
