Microvast Fast-charging Batteries Power ART

www.chinabuses.org: CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd. Recently rolled out an autonomous rail rapid transit, also known as ART. Well integrating the respective strengths of modern trolleys and city buses, ART has attracted wide media and public attention and is believed to make big splashes in the urban transport field.

Consisting of three carriages with a combined length of 30-plus meters, ART is able to load over 300 passengers with a maximum speed of 70 km/h. Powered by Microvast fast-charging batteries which can be fully recharged in ten minutes, the vehicle can travel 25 km continuously.

According to sources, ART is fully capable of loading 500 passengers by adding carriages. It gets recharged at bus stations with power recharging facilities which require only small space and can be built very easily.

Boasting a minimum recharging time, a long life-expectancy, and high safety standards, Microvast battery systems well suit ART. A research conducted by the UK-based University of Warwick shows that Microvast fast-charging batteries only lose 10% of its power storage capacity after being recharged and discharged for 13,000 times. This is encouraging news for the whole industry as it is now possible that batteries could enjoy an equally long life expectancy with the vehicle itself.

Since 2011, Microvast batteries have made their way to buses which are in operation in over 140 cities across the globe. In the meantime, the company has been constantly building and expanding its sales and service networks. In China alone, the number of BRT equipped with Microvast batteries has exceeded 200 units.
