Weichai set up a waste water recycling system in the old factory, treating 4400 tons of water everyday. All the industrial waste water will be treated in the facility. The facility recycles more than 100 tons of waste oil a year, and reduces 1.2 million tons of discharge of waste water, producing 1.5 million tons of recycled water, saving 1.5 million tons of water a year.
Weichai also set up a waste water treatment system in the industrial zone, recycling 1000 tons of waste water a day, saving 360,000 tons of fresh water a year. The recycled water are used in many aspects, such as car-testing, manufacturing, toilet-washing, fire-fighting and other purposes. This way, fresh water are saved and environment is better preserved.
Weichai put much effort into building emission-reducing infrastructures in the four industrial zones. Take the newly-built industrial zone for example, the low-energy-consumption and energy-saving facilities are fully adopted, including the waste heat utilization technology, water heat utilization technology.
In recent years, developing new energy source has always been a big part in the works of Weichai. In 2012, they made some remarkable progress. The green product chain of ‘engine-motor-transmission’ will provide effective, powerful support for the new energy bus industry.
In 2012, Weichai launched the new energy engine assembly “ WN20”, using the modular design of low carbon energy-saving, with the diesel engine ranging from 4L to 12 L, and transmission between 5 gears and 16 gears. The engine assembly will be used in bus of 10-12 meters long, the oil saved will be as high as 30%. Weichai made a series of remarkable achievements with this one as a mark.
By way of innovation, Weichai succeeded in developing core technologies featuring electric and electric control, forming platform for general use, and putting the achievements into fields of hybrid loader, excavator, dozer, coach and heavy duty truck, pushing the relative technology of our country to the world leading level.

The engine system will mainly be used in bus with a length between 10m and 12m. as it was tested by the authority of national government that in normal working conditions of a typical city bus in China, with a basis that a bus travels 400,000 km in 8 years, a total of 80 less tons of carbon dioxide will be emitted, saving more than 30% of oil.
