Due to growing demand for commercial vehicles, as well as increased governmental transportation investments, Allison Transmission recently established a new regional office in South America. As the world's largest manufacturer of fully automatic transmissions for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, the new office is part of Allison's global expansion plan.

Bogotá was chosen in part for its strategic position as a doorway to this developing region. Since opening in the Colombian capital earlier this year, Allison has worked to promote commercial and post-sales support throughout the Andean Countries region. The implementation of the Integrated Public Transportation System (SITP) – the third phase of the TransMilenio – represents an excellent opportunity for bus manufacturers and their suppliers, including Allison Transmission.

Gaston Brunicardi coordinates commercial affairs for the Allison Colombian office team, and Carlos Gallo heads post-sales support. Additionally, Allison Transmission continues to partner with Stewart & Stevenson Colombia, a long-standing local distributor, also providing post-sales support.

"Beyond regional client proximity and expanded opportunities to increase commercial contacts, post-sales partnerships with vehicle manufacturers operating in the region allows Allison to better serve our clients,” said Evaldo Oliveira, Allison Transmission's operational director for South America.
