Sales volumes in the first seven months were 14,976,000,000 yuan (USD) according to their announced results, up 8.36% year on year, and 411,000 diesel engines were sold in total, up 5.68% year on year.

Li Tiansheng, general manager of Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., was quoted as saying that the reason they can counterstrike the financial crisis is that their adherence to their guidelines of “Perfect inside and outside on development ”, that is to improve innovation ability and core competitiveness and to develop both countryside markets and overseas markets.

In marketing, Yuchai made use of national large-scale investment in the fixed assets and “Countryside Household Appliances Project” to develop engineering vehicles and agricultural machineries markets. To explore overseas markets, they expanded external financing channels to develop advanced products.

Yuchai signed engines supply and sell general contract, valuing 10,000,000 USD, with Russia on February 17, 2009, which is the first domestic stand-alone engine product exporting to Russia.
