Guangzhou Automobile Group Autobus Co., Ltd. recently reached a preliminary agreement with Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. for strategic cooperation. According to the agreement, the two parties will establish long-term and comprehensive strategic cooperation in the field of developing urban hybrid coaches.
Currently, both Guangzhou Automobile Group Autobus Co., Ltd. and Guangqi Hino agree that they have formed a solid foundation with Yuchai for strategic cooperation. Apart from their cooperative project for the 16th Asian Games, both companies hope to set up long-term and all-around strategic ties with Yuchai. They have reached a consensus that their cooperation should be put high on their business agenda.
After a visit to Yuchai’s Yulin Production Base, JIANG Ping, Deputy General Manager of Guangqi Co. and President of Guangzhou Automobile Group Autobus Co., Ltd. concluded that the model of Yuchai’s urban hybrid coach possesses very impressive sales points both in power and economic performance.
At present, Guangzhou Automobile Group Autobus Co., Ltd. boasts a variety of coaches measuring six to twelve meters long, such as hybrid urban buses, intercity coaches and private coaches. The company is now aiming at becoming a modern coach production base integrating advanced coach manufacturing techniques from both home and abroad.
Jointly powered by diesel engine and motor, Yuchai’s urban hybrid coach is capable of saving up to 20% of fuels compared with the common urban coach. In May 2008, Yuchai received its first order for the coach, thus realizing the coach’s production on a small scale.
