www.chinabuses.org: To meet the new requirements of energy-saving and environment protection, FAW recently strengthened the development and production of the environmental vehicles. The first 50 gas-electric hybrid power buses produced by FAW were launched in production and operation in Changchun. It will reduce the emission of 54 tons carbon dioxide and about 5.86 thousand USD will be saved in gas consumption if the daily operation is 200 kilometers for a vehicle.

In addition, FAW will take the development of new energy vehicle as the key breakthrough. During the period of "the 11th Five-year", FAW developed the full hybrid power products: Jiefang hybrid power buses with the more 38% fuel-saving than the conventional buses and Euro Ⅳ standard; Besturn hybrid power car with 42% fuel-saving and emission superior to National III standard. These two models made FAW realize the leap development from weak to full hybrid power technology.
