Huanghai Auto Holds Delivery Ceremony for Customized Buses for Colombia

Two tailor-made customized bus models—a 9.6-meter low-entry CNG bus and a 12-meter high-floor CNG bus—were officially dispatched. These buses will be shipped across the ocean to Cartagena, Colombia, where they will support the upgrade of the local public transportation system. Two CNG bus models delivered this time are precisely configured to address different operational scenarios in Cartagena. Both series are powered by clean energy and strictly comply with Euro 6 emission standards. In addition to achieving low-carbon emissions, they also deliver excellent climbing performance of 16%, making them well-suited to the region’s varied road conditions.

The 9.6-meter low-entry CNG bus is primarily designed for urban branch lines and community micro-circulation routes. Featuring a single-step, low-entry configuration, it offers a front door clear width of ≥850 mm and a middle door clear width of ≥1100 mm, significantly improving passenger boarding and alighting efficiency. The interior layout has been scientifically optimized, and a dedicated wheelchair area has been incorporated to accommodate peak passenger flows while ensuring accessibility for individuals with reduced mobility.

The 12-meter high-floor CNG bus is specifically built for Cartagena’s BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system. In response to the high passenger volumes and operational efficiency demands of BRT routes, the vehicle adopts an innovative multi-door layout: a platform-side door on the left and three three-step doors on the right, one of which is equipped with an automatic wheelchair lift. This design significantly improves passenger turnover efficiency at BRT stations. Spacious seating and standing areas, combined with professional performance tuning tailored to rapid transit operations, make this model an effective solution for BRT trunk lines.

In terms of driving experience and safety, both models feature comprehensive upgrades. The entire series comes standard with air suspension systems to effectively absorb road vibrations, along with multiple braking safety systems and automatic fire suppression devices in the cabin, forming a complete operational safety framework. Interior features include slip-resistant, wear-resistant flooring, ergonomic handrails, priority seating, full-LED lighting, and USB charging ports. Attention to detail is evident in elements such as customized Spanish-language display instruments and exclusive signage—demonstrating Huanghai Auto’s deep understanding of local user needs.
