Tianjin Customs reveals the total import volume in the first month of this year hit 24,000 units and the value reached $820 million. Compared the same period of the last year, it was up 120 percent. According to the statistics, 73.4 percent of autos were from European Union and Japan.

Tianjin is one of important ports in China and its customs deal with half of China's total auto imports. In the year of 2009, the auto import business in Tianjin port decreased a lot because of global financial crisis.
