The 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show kicked off on June 11, 2026. SAIC MAXUS showcased its full commercial vehicle lineup at the exhibition and unveiled three new pickup models. During the event, SAIC MAXUS sealed landmark cooperation deals with two leading Malaysian enterprises:

A procurement contract for 300 MAXUS eDeliver 5 units was signed with Yinson, a local green technology conglomerate. This well-received light van model, already popular in the domestic Chinese market, marked a new overseas milestone by securing Malaysia's largest single order for new energy light vans in history.

Signing Ceremony between SAIC MAXUS and Yinson

Separately, a deal for 155 special-purpose MAXUS Deliver 9 vehicles was reached with Global Komited, a subsidiary of Weststar specializing in special and custom vehicle solutions. These vehicles will be converted into Malaysia's first batch of factory-built special-purpose vehicles.

Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Minister of Energy and Water Transition, attended the event in person. After inspecting the exhibition vehicles and test-driving SAIC MAXUS's new energy models, he spoke highly of their robust build quality and cutting-edge new energy technologies.

Yang Huaijing, Chairman of the SAIC Commercial Vehicle Management Committee and General Manager of SAIC MAXUS, together with senior executives from Weststar Group, Yinson Group, and Global Komited, witnessed the signing ceremony.

The simultaneous signing of these two landmark orders testifies to overseas clients' trust in SAIC MAXUS's products, technologies, and comprehensive service capabilities. It also fuels leapfrog growth for the brand in two key segments of the Malaysian market: new energy commercial vehicles and high-end custom special vehicles.

Two Flagship Orders Signed Simultaneously, Reshaping Malaysia's Commercial Vehicle Landscape with Multiple Industry Records

At the motor show, drivEV, the electric mobility brand under Yinson GreenTech — the green technology arm of Malaysia's global energy infrastructure leader Yinson Holdings Berhad — finalized a procurement agreement for 300 MAXUS eDeliver 5 new energy light vans.

This represents not only the largest new energy light van procurement project in Yinson GreenTech's history but also the single largest order for new energy light vans ever recorded in Malaysia.

Built on SAIC MAXUS's Hongtu 2.0 all-new commercial electric platform and equipped with CATL Tianxing batteries, the MAXUS eDeliver 5 is well suited for various operational scenarios, including urban distribution and trunk logistics. Once deployed, the fleet will significantly accelerate the low-carbon, efficient, and sustainable transformation of Malaysia's logistics sector.

Meanwhile, SAIC MAXUS partnered with Global Komited, an affiliate of its authorized local distributor Weststar, which will purchase 155 special-purpose vehicles based on the MAXUS Deliver 9 platform.

Global Komited is an established player in Malaysia's special vehicle, military, and defense vehicle sectors, with a complete custom conversion system and extensive industry service expertise.

The MAXUS Deliver 9 features a robust chassis and exceptional conversion adaptability. Modified to official factory standards, these vehicles will become Malaysia's first batch of fully factory-built special-purpose vehicles delivered directly from the OEM.

This project represents SAIC MAXUS's in-depth expansion into Malaysia's high-end custom commercial vehicle market, achieving full-scenario product coverage ranging from standard logistics vans to professional special vehicles.

Three New Pickups Unveiled to Strengthen Overseas Competitiveness with Market-Aligned Offerings

Leveraging the 2026 Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show, SAIC MAXUS officially launched three new pickup models — the Terron 9, eTerron 9, and T60 — precisely tailored to local consumption and operational demands in Malaysia.

Thanks to years of deep cultivation in the local market, SAIC MAXUS currently ranks first in Malaysia's electric van market share, further solidifying its leading position in the country's commercial vehicle industry.

SAIC MAXUS vehicles are exported to over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Its light vans and premium pickups consistently top Chinese brand export rankings, and the brand serves as a long-term supplier for global logistics giants such as DHL and the UK's Royal Mail. The international influence of commercial vehicles built with Chinese smart manufacturing continues to grow.
