Fifty CRRC New-Energy Buses Officially Hit the Road in Weihai

On 5 November 2025, fifty CRRC new-energy buses officially entered service in Weihai, gliding through the city’s arteries and adding a fresh breath of green to residents’ daily commutes.

The fleet comprises CRRC’s C10 and C08 models and will fully cover major routes including 12, 37, 41, 51, 104, K5 and K6. With comprehensive safety upgrades and human-centered features, the buses will help weave a smarter, greener urban-mobility network.

Situated at the eastern tip of the Shandong Peninsula on the shore of the Yellow Sea, Weihai is a renowned coastal tourist city and one of China’s most livable municipalities, celebrated as the “City of Mountains and Sea.” Designated a pilot city in Shandong Province for the electrification of public-sector vehicles, Weihai is committed to low-carbon development, actively promoting new-energy transport and accelerating full electrification of public-service fleets.

The newly deployed CRRC pure-electric buses deliver markedly upgraded comfort and convenience. Air-suspension systems filter out road jolts; a one-step entry design lets seniors, children and luggage-carrying passengers board with ease; ergonomic seats, climate-controlled HVAC, heated handrails and USB charging ports, plus full-color electronic destination displays, raise the riding experience to a new level.

Safety and reliability are equally prioritized. Four-wheel disc brakes and an EBS electronic-stability program handle wet, sloped roads with confidence; battery, motor and control systems are upgraded to higher protection grades, shrugging off the coastal humidity; 360° surround-view cameras and an interlock that prevents departure until doors are fully closed form a multi-layer safety net, creating a more secure public-transport environment.

As these energy-efficient, comfortable and safe CRRC electric buses roll out across Weihai, they will further refine the local transit network, broaden travel choices for residents and inject new green momentum into the city’s transportation system.
