Recently, 2023 China Automobiles, Motorcycles and Spare Parts (Portugal) Exhibition, themed with “New Energy, New Manufacturing”, was successfully held in Lisbon Conference Center, Portugal. With a market share of over 70% in the country’s electric bus market, Zhongtong brought its latest new energy public transport solutions on display.

On China-Portugal Automobiles & Spare Parts Trade & Cooperation Forum held during the exhibition, Zhongtong was invited to deliver a keynote speech, introducing the company’s achievements in developing new energy public transportation solutions.

Soon after its entry into the new energy bus market in Portugal, Zhongtong gained wide recognition among local residents and bus operators. In 2021, a batch of Zhongtong N12 electric city buses officially started operation in Porto, the second largest city in Portugal. So far, these zero-carbon-emission city buses have accumulated a total mileage of over 150,000 km. They have been providing greener and more comfortable urban travel services for local residents.

In 2022, Zhongtong electric buses, including N12, N8 and V7, once again made their way to cities in Portugal, further improving the bus maker’s presence in the country. According to Zhongtong, it has so far built a solid presence in 11 major cities across Portugal and provided transportation services for over six million passengers.

As one of the leading players in China’s new energy bus industry, Zhongtong is committed to providing greener and more customized public transportation solutions for its global customers.

As one of the first countries in Western Europe to sign the Belt and Road Cooperation Document with China, Portugal has been working closely with China to promote sound and more sustainable economic development. In response to EU’s call for cutting carbon emissions, Portugal has been actively involved in promoting green public transport with the goal of achieving zero carbon emissions.
