Since 2003, Golden Dragon has been making relentless efforts to strengthen its presence in the the overseas market. In 2022, the bus maker ranked the second place in China in terms of the export volume of medium- and large-sized buses & coaches. Despite a host of challenges and difficulties posed by COVID-19, it has managed to maintain a fast growing momentum in the global market.

In recent years, Golden Dragon has gained a fast growing popularity in Europe, winning a number of loyal customers. In northern Europe, considering the cold weather and the use of snow-melting agent, the bus maker has made a number of optimizations on its buses to suit the needs and requirements of the local bus operators. In 2010, Golden Dragon successfully made its way to Finland. Later, it secured bus deals from France, Netherlands, Romania, etc.

With growing awareness of environmental protection and as a part of the efforts to combat global warming, Golden Dragon electric buses & coaches became a much visible force in Europe. According to the bus maker, it delivered 33 units electric city buses to Esbjerg, Denmark and 11 units electric travel coaches to Norway.

“The European market has the most stringent requirements for market entry, which has been motivating us to constantly upgrade our technologies and strengthen our overall competitiveness”, said An Min, General Manager of Golden Dragon Overseas Sales Company.

A fast growing presence of Golden Dragon in Côte d’Ivoire fully epitomizes the bus maker’s commitment to providing best products and services to its customers. After receiving a phone call from a local customer, after-service engineers of Golden Dragon stationed in the country drove 400 km to help deal with some emergencies.

In 2023, Golden Dragon made a new breakthrough in South America by securing an order of 600 units CNG buses with low-floor access from Mexico. According to the bus maker, all the buses will be delivered to its customer by the end of this year.

In terms of export of technologies, Golden Dragon has so far built KD factories in over 10 countries, including Thailand, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Uganda, and Tunis, etc. By assembling the buses in the local market, it is able to deliver bus products to its customers in a much faster manner and further cut its production costs. More importantly, it is actively involved in promoting the development of these countries’ automobile industry. Through deepened cooperation with its local partners, Golden Dragon has helped train more skilled workers and create more job opportunities for local people.

Take Thailand for example. After the completion of its KD factory in the country, Golden Dragon’s export volume to the country soared to 1,850 units from zero in the previous year. As of July this year, over 3,000 units Golden Dragon buses & coaches had been assembled in Thailand.
