From Sept. 1 to 3, 2023 Smart China Expo Intelligent Vehicle Application Competition was held in Yongchuan District, Chongqing. 19 teams with over 180 representatives in the smart vehicle industry gathered in Yongchuan to showcase their innovative technologies.
Golden Dragon and Mogo AI joined hands to participate in the competition with SPRITE autonomous driving bus. After several rounds of tests, SPRITE beat its rivals and won the Best Control Award.
During the competition, SPRITE together with other competitors drove 4.5 km on open roads, performing a number of challenging tasks (changing lanes, making turns, making stops, cruising, driving at crossroads, making room for other vehicles, driving on slopes, etc.). With heavy traffic on the road, SPRITE excelled in control, safety standards, making operation decisions, sensing algorithms.
As the latest generation of L4-level autonomous driving bus with L4-level, SPRITE provided smooth and convenient transportation services for athletes at the 31st FISU World University Games in Chengdu recently, making headlines in various media.
As one of the three major competitions at this year’s Smart China Expo, the competition attracted a number of well-renowned auto brands, including Geely, Chang’an, Great Wall, etc. Emerging forces like JD and Mogo AI as well as some universities also participated in the competition.
In recent years, Golden Dragon has been making relentless efforts to develop light-weight connected & electricity powered vehicles and promote their commercial operation. So far, it has delivered nearly 300 autonomous driving buses to its customers with a total mileage of over 10 million km.
