After obtaining the operation approval, Dongfeng Cummins 6.7N engine officially started to power several new bus models in China lately. On a small production scale, the first batch of six units 6.7N engine with National VI Emission Standards and Euro VI Emission Standards have become the power engine for Dongfeng trucks, Foton AUV buses and Zhongtong buses, etc.
According to Dongfeng Cummins, the first three vehicles powered by 6.7N engine will be delivered to the end customers in early April, marking a big milestone for the power engine. As Cummins’ only engine product in the medium power range with Euro VI Emission Standards, 6.7N engine is set to become the new blockbuster in the global engine market.
In early March this year, a 12-meter Zhongtong 280PS bus, powered by 6.7N engine, successfully accomplished its trial operation, paving the way for its commercial operation in the near future.
On March, 13, the 6.7N engine project team, led by Yu Tao, the person-in-charge of the team, visited Foton AUV. The bus maker plans to build two new bus models equipped with 6.7N engines: one for the domestic market and the other for the Latin American market. By the end of this year, the bus maker aims to put 6.7N engines on 30 units Foton AUV buses.
