Recently, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially released the list of China 2022 Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Enterprises. A total number of 99 leading enterprises across various industries in China were on the list. Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Dongfeng Cummins) successfully entered the list, fully demonstrating its impressive advances in the intelligent manufacturing domain.

In 2018, Dongfeng Cummins launched 2025 Manufacturing Plan. One year later, its flexible assembly lines (FAL) devoted to producing 3.8-3.9L medium- and heavy-engines with China’s National VI Emission Standards were officially put into operation. In 2020, the company launched the construction of new production lines for 8.5-15L heavy-engines.

Currently, Dongfeng Cummins possesses a wealth of management systems (PPIF/PFSW, QMS, MAXIMO, QualityWorX, OA) and boasts a host of internationally advanced technologies, including IPV, AGV, robotics, AI visual, ANDON, RFID, numerical control machining, intelligent tightening, etc.

In the field of industrial internet of things (IIoT), Dongfeng Cummins has also made huge advances with business in PDM, MPP, WMS&LES, MES, APS, TMS, etc.

Established in 1996, Dongfeng Cummins was jointly invested by Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Cummins (China) Investment Co., Ltd. with 50% shares from both sides. So far, it has delivered 3.5 million units light-, medium- and heavy-engines to its customers across the globe.
