Recently, the first batch of 174 units Zhongtong hybrid city buses officially started operation in Macao. Under the operation of Macao Public Transport Co., Ltd. Not long ago, Zhongtong successfully secured an order of 400 units city buses from Macao Public Transport. According to the two parties’ agreement, all the 400 units city buses will be delivered within the next two years. Zhongtong hybrid city buses are also the first batch of new energy buses that are now in operation in Macao.
Statistics show that Macao receives nearly 200 million tourists each year. Since 2016, the city has been making great efforts to build greener, carbon-free and more intelligent public transport network. By the end of 2021, all fossil fuel powered city buses operating in the city will be replaced by new energy powered ones.
After a full consideration of local operation conditions, Zhongtong developed more customized hybrid city buses for Macao. They can be entirely powered by electricity or powered by electricity and fossil fuels at the same time. Delivering impressively powerful performances, they are readily adaptable to the working conditions in Macao.

To better adjust to the humid weather conditions in Macao, Zhongtong hybrid city buses have gone through electrophoresis treatment and are painted with advanced technologies, making them more resistant to rust and corrosion.
To improve its overall management of its bus fleet, Macao Public Transport has also introduced Zhongtong U-LINK Whole Lifecycle Intelligent Operation Platform, which will help the bus operator manage its vehicles more efficiently.
At 2021 Macao International Auto Show, Ho Iat-Seng, Macao SAR chief executive, visited Zhongtong’s exhibition booths and spoke highly of the bus maker’s achievements.
