Zhongtong to Work on Substitution of Sleeper Buses

www.chinabuses.org: Data from Zhongtong Bus Company shows that the company produced 100 sleeper buses per year before 2011, while 20 units per year in 2011.

Because of "7-22" sleeper bus accident in 2011, Shandong Province Quality and Technology Supervision Bureau made strict rules on the bunk number, passageway dimensions and floor hight. On December 31st, 2011, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Public Security jointly published No.632 document, in which the application of new sleeper buses was suspended. Nowadays, Zhongtong has stopped the production of sleeper buses and has produced the commercial seat buses since September.

There are 19 sleeper buses in Liaocheng and according to the operation period, these buses will be out of the market in five years.
