The technicians from Zhongtong Bus made specific explanations about electric and hybrid power products on the forum.

It is known that Zhongtong Bus has confirmed the development strategy of electric buses and brought forward the technical route of focusing on hybrid power buses, exploring electric buses in the special fields and following the trend of fuel cell since 2004. Zhongtong hybrid power buses and electric buses for Olympic Games as well as plug-in hybrid power buses have been related to the national Program 863 in 2006 and in 2008 respectively. With the key technologies of motor drive, application of batteries and vehicle control, Zhongtong Bus has got 4 granted invention patents and over 30 utility patents and has invested 220 million Yuan on the development of new energy buses.
Zhongtong Bus has launched 10 generations of hybrid power buses, 5 generations of electric buses and taken the leading to issue plug-in hybrid power buses. As for the fuel economy of hybrid power buses, it has increased from 10% to 34.6%. The power consumption of one 12-meter luxury electric tourist coach is less than 1 kWh per one hundred kilometers. As of now, over 400 Zhongtong new energy buses have been sold to Singapore and the domestic cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Jinan, Taian, Laiwu, Liaocheng and Hangzhou.
In particular, LCK6120GT diesel city buses are popular for light weight, low fuel consumption (10%; 3-4 liters per one hundred kilometers can be saved) and large passenger capacity up to 117 people, advantageous in convenient passengers'f lowing and reasonable matching. The actual operation range of this model has reached almost 90,000 km in Tianjin.
