The 11th National Games will be held in Jinan from October 16, 2009. To promote city image and quality, government of Jinan Municipality has ordered to improve traffic conditions. And they want to cooperate with Youngman again.
60 buses delivered in advance, additional order for 137 vehicles
On July 12, 2009, Youngman beat Huanghai Buses, Kinglong and Golden Dragon etc 7 mainstream bus manufacturers to win an order of 60buses for Jinan bus rapid transit (BRT), including 40 18-metre and 20 12-meter BRT buses. These buses will be employed in the newly opened BRT3.
Youngman BRT Serve National Games
Jinan BRT3 is a special line for the upcoming National Games. A grand ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for first batches of Youngman BRT on the day BRT3 was opened. It’s learned that passenger flow volume of BRT3, 140,000 person-time per day, is larger than BRT1 and BRT2. And it takes only 37 minutes to finish 11.2 kilometers BRT3 one way on average.
Youngman buses delivered to Jinan this time are adopted European design conception. Integral bodywork and optimized body frame can reduce the weight of the whole vehicle at maximum and guarantee strength of the complete vehicle at the same time. In this way, safety of passengers can be provided and fuel consumption can be reduced. Transmission mechanism is upgraded directed towards city public transport. Left hand door is adopted in BRT special lane, and LED display screen and voice prompt system are equipped to inform arrival information. In addition, on-vehicle monitor system is installed to monitor the whole travel process.
In August, additional order for 137 buses for newly opened BRT3 was secured.
Of course Jinan Public Transport has their own reason to choose Youngman vehicles. Their cooperation started from 2007, and there has been no quality problems leading to delay since Youngman vehicles delivered to Jinan Public Transport.
