However, the sales volume of low discharge cars which experienced quick development began to decrease in 2007, and their market share shrank somewhat. In the second half of 2008, a series of regulations issued by the government began to change such a situation. In recent years, quite some joint brands made more efforts to the low discharge market, and the discharge of low discharge cars are mainly from 1.3L to 1.6L. On such a market, both China's independent brands and joint brands are ready to start.

 


Over years of strategic adjustment, joint ventures made progress in terms of market suitability of car types and cost optimization. In the past, joint ventures seldom entered the market of cars priced under RMB100 thousand yuan, but now, Guangzhou Toyota and Beijing Hyundai, Guangzhou Honda, Changan Ford Mazda all launched competitive low discharge cars in such a price section.

 


It was just the competition pressure that brought development drive for China's independent brands. In the past years, the technology content and quality of low discharge cars with China's independent brands have been improved greatly, and their competitiveness is growing stronger day by day. China's independent brands launched such low discharge car types as GWPERI, BYD F0, Geely Panda etc.

 


The effort of China's independent brands and joint brands led to the completely formed market competition, and the consequent technological improvement and quality maturity of products will drive the new round of development of low discharge cars.

 


Small quality cars becomes the mainstream

 


In the past years, when it comes to low discharge cars, people would describe them as "low grade, low quality and low price". The reasons preventing consumers from buying low discharge cars include low technological content, insufficient power performance, and less strong safety of the complete car.
