Development of Zhongtong Bus R&D Center

Established in 1985, Zhongtong Bus R&D team is the provincial-level research center for bus technology. Now there are more than 332 are professional technicians and nearly 200 are technical engineers. Therefore the Strong R&D strength acts as the foundation of persistent technology development.
Correspondingly, Zhongtong Bus pays a high attention on the technology development in order to increase the capability all the way. Since 2001, Zhongtong Bus reached an agreement with the Netherlands VDL Bova company on the transfer of high-grade bus technology. With this alliance; we have been able to introduce Zhongtong bus into the domestic luxury bus market successfully.
Zhongtong Bus continuously increases the investment of the R&D, using the France CATIA software to do the computer aided design. Meanwhile, technology center set up a CPC group. It is consists of CAE, PDM and CATIA three systems.
PDM is shortened form product data management, the application of this new system into industrial production design can make the relation with all the information throughout the product lifecycle and management course. By managing and controlling the parameter from initially design to final production, it can increase work efficiency, reduce design period and hasten product launch, finally strengthen the competitive ability accordingly.
CATIA system run through the whole course of production, not only ensure the coherence cooperation between interior different design departments, but also supply the port to port solution for the whole design course. Using this system can create the inspiration; enhance the design level, efficiency and precision to accomplish the universal, series and modularization of the product design.
CAE is shortened form from computer aided education, this program can diagnose the bus performance and security, and get the full information about stiffness of product，intensity of the bus，intensity of stress and aberration before the production. Engineer can modify the insufficiency of the product timely so as to improve and advance the quality at the beginning of the design.
