On September 20, 2008, Ankai held a patent press conference on integral designed body of Ankai coach, under the title “Tracing the Origin of Integral Designed Body and its Development in China”, in the city of Hefei. On this conference, Ankai invited leaders from relevant department in this industry, industry experts and technical specialists to discuss the development of integral designed body in China and to explore ways of promoting independent development in Chinese coach industry.

In domestic market, there are plenty of coach enterprises, in addition to Ankai, have claimed that they have adopted the integral design body technology. In fact, however, what some enterprises have claimed is only the semi-integral body technology, rather than the authentic integral designed body technology. These enterprises have no key intellectual property rights.
In order to maintain fair market environment, Ankai coach applied to the State Intellectual Property Office for the “Integral Designed Body” patent on July 3, 2006 and eventually obtained the patent authentication on July 23, 2008. The integral designed body is awarded with invention patent, characterized by highest technology, longest protection period and most powerful market monopolistic advantage. Since then, the integral designed body of Ankai has been under the law’s protection. Any act involving palming semi-integral body off as the integral designed body will be punished by law.
All along, Ankai has been devoting to the promotion of integral designed body technology, which, to a certain extent, contributes to the change of coach manufacturing in China, that is, the shift of focus from chassis manufacturing to whole vehicle manufacturing.
More than ten years ago Ankai first brought into China Setra technology of coach manufacturing, the world advanced coach technology with a superior safety performance, and later based on it developed Ankai-Setra deluxe coach, which is engineered with the so-called Bird Cage structure. Such Structure is capable of breaking down the impact when collision occurs, preventing the coach body from twisting and fracture, and left with sufficient survival space for the passengers inside the coach. This structure not only has a reduced overall weight, so raising the efficiency in fuel consumption, but also makes a larger room for luggage compartment. Ankai constantly put product safety as top element. No matter with design or with technical renovation, Ankai has invariably attached the most importance to the safety to passengers lives, and deemed it a prerequisite to sustainable survival of products and to continued growth of firms. Since the introduction of integral designed body technology from K?ssbohrer 15 years ago, Ankai has made continuous innovations. As a result, we cultivated the technology owning independent intellectual property right and eventually obtained the present patent authentication.
On this conference, the management of Ankai Coach showed its patent certificate to the participants. In addition to this conference, a customer comment activity named “Tracing the applications of integral designed body” will be launched. We hope to promote the development of integral designed body technology in China, raise concerns on independent development and integral designed body technology and finally bring the coach industry of China to a higher level.
