Following the staging of the Olympic Games in Beijing, another major international event -- The 12th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) themed around “attracting FDI” and “going global”, unveiled its curtain on September 8 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. Wang Qishan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of China opened the Fair by pressing the launch key, toured the exhibition hall, and delivered the keynote speech at the International Investment Forum 2008. 445 overseas delegations from 104 countries & regions, and institutions from 74 countries & regions attended the fair. Themed on "Introducing FDI" and "Going Global", CIFIT features a focus upon nationality and internationality, upon investment negotiation and investment policy promotion, upon coordinated development of national and regional economy, and upon economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait. CIFIT is currently China's only international investment promotion event aimed at facilitating bilateral investment. It's also the only and largest global investment event approved by UFI.
As the host and sponsor, Xiamen City, attached great importance to the logistical support for CIFIT. Hardware and software facilities were greatly improved and logistical systems and operating mechanisms were boosted. Meticulous arrangements were made for security, transportation, accommodation, catering, city beautication, and atmosphere enhancement. To serve all the guest better, the CIFIT Organizing Committee decided to go on choosing Xiamen Golden Dragon buses as the nominated serving buses for the 12th CIFIT. It is understood that it’s the 12th time for Xiamen Golden Dragon bus serving CIFIT for the 12 consecutive years.
