In the past 16 years, steady development of Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co., Ltd. made it become China's large-scaled complete vehicles manufacturer with the annual production & sales of 25,000 units, and it has hit a new high for last 15 straight years. In 2007, Golden Dragon achieved registered sales revenues of RMB 4.5 billions (overseas sales: USD 0.143 billion), this put Golden Dragon rank in the second position among China's coach builders in four straight years. In 2008, Golden Dragon introduced China's first cathode electrophoresis coating line for the bodies of complete vehicles which cost 0.2 billion to improve the quality of its complete vehicles.
As the competition within coach industry is heating up as well as the Higher oil prices caused by the 3rd petrol crisis, coach builders are facing a bigger challenge to improve the function and quality of their coach products. Korean Hyundai Motor Co., one of the five global general automobile group, has a total global sales of 3.99 millions units in 2007 and become one of the commercial vehicle enterprises like gold dust around the world. Hyundai Commercial Vehicle Department under which there are a comprehensive range of commercial vehicles, from mini truck/coach to large truck/coach, and the up-to-day self-developed engines which can be exported to the developed countries, such as Europe/North America/Japan. In 2008, Golden Dragon, after extensive market surveys and communication, came to the agreement on supply of chassis and power system from Korean Hyundai Motor Co. Under the cooperation with Hyundai, Golden Dragon's coaches will become the most advanced ones in domestic market with faster paces.
The delegation from Korean Hyundai Motor Co. visited the building facilities at Haicang, newly-built cathode electrophoresis line for complete vehicles, the assembly workshop, the chassis workshop and the sampling coach of Golden Dragon. Top leaders from both parties negotiated each other on this cooperation and attended the ceremony for this agreement on the supply form Korean Hyundai Motor Co. General Manager Ye Hongting from Golden Dragon stated that Korean Hyundai Motor Company is a powerful international company and of great honor in the world market. The cooperation with Hyundai this time is the 3rd innovation after the first two ones in 1992 and 1999, and this has historic meaning. Looking ahead to the future, Golden Dragon will cherish this cooperation, and the intellectual property right of Korea will be well considered, so that the development between both parties can be healthy and substantially boosted.
The Executive Director So Young Jun from Korean Hyundai Motor Co. also gave a high praise of Golden Dragon's development. He stated that Golden Dragon had become China's top nation-class coach manufacturer in terms of its superior performance, quality and perfect domestic after sales network. This cooperation can be regarded as the optimal one, also he believed, after the perfect combination between these two excellent companies from Korea and China respectively, Hyundai and Golden Dragon would offer masterpiece to customers as they wished.
This supply agreement signed officially by both parties marks Golden Dragon's new high of overseas technology communication and cooperation, meanwhile, the quality and the performance price ratio of Golden Dragon's coaches would achieve a new level. We also believe that both parties can gain win-win success by the mutual advantage from advanced technology of Hyundai and Golden Dragon's great occupancy in China market.
