New BRT Vehicles Are Working on Road

For welcoming the coming 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and making traffic transportation more smooth, on 31 July, line 2 and line 3 of Beijing BRT(Bus Rapid Transit) begun to operate, with route from Chaoyang Gate to Yangzha Station and Anding Gate to Hongfuyuan Community respectively. The length of the route reaches 25 km and departure frequency at peak time will be 1 to 2 minutes once. And all vehicles are made in Youngman.
The new BRT is more comfortable, having a big capacity, which is said can take more than 220 pessengers during rush hour, and is quicker compared with common public bus due to it has designated BRT lane(no other vehicles are allowed to drive through the lane). Meanwhile, its price is the same as usual, only one yuan from departure station to terminal, and only cost 0.4 yuan if by swiping intellectual card.
Many elders and students were excited to take the trial vehilce, some said "It is more convenient and the design of the inner is more reasonable, not only has some reserved seats for special people, but also has space for big luggages. The vehicle is long and the inner space is bigger."
