www.chinabuses.org: According to sources, China sold 6,485 units of complete large buses, down by 3.05% against the previous month and down by 17.90% against the same period last year. The sales volume of large buses accounted for 13.31% of the overall sales of the bus industry, basically at the same level as registered in Apr.

 

In May, the complete large buses sold 6,298 units, slightly down by 0.22% against Apr. and down by 12.24% against May last year. The top five players are Zhengzhou Yutong, Xiamen King Long, Higer, BAIC Foton, Shanghai Sunwin. The five companies combined sold 4,350 units of large buses, accounting for 69.07% of the sector's total.

Among the top five, Zhengzhou Yutong, Suzhou Higer and Shanghai Sunwin  witnessed varied degrees of upward movements against the previous month, with the growth rates registering at 0.93%, 0.13% and 6316.67% . Compared with the same period last year, both BAIC Foton and Shanghai Sunwin saw fast growth, with their growth rates standing at 141.55% and 220.83% respectively. Also worth mentioning is that Shanghai Sunwin sold 385 units of vehicles, up by jaw-dropping 6316.67% against a sales volume of only 6 units in Apr. and 220.83% against May last year.

 

In May, the sales volume of incomplete large buses stood at 187 units, down by 50.40% against Apr. this year and down by 74.14% against May last year. The top five winner are Shanghai Sunwin, Dongfeng Automobile, Lion Bus, Shaanxi Automobile Group and BAIC Foton. The five companies nearly took up the whole market of non-whole-body large-sized buses in May, with a combined market share of 99.47%.
