www.chinabuses.org: In May, China sold 36,084 units of light buses (including non-whole-body vehicles), down by 3.89% against the previous month and up by 2.16% year on year. The sales volume of light buses last month account for 74.05% of the overall sales volume of buses, slightly lower than 76.01% which was registered in Apr.

 


Specificially, the nation sold 30,774 units of whole-body light buses, down by 4.91% against the previous month and up by 4.94% year on year. The top five winners of light bus makers are Jinbei, JMC, Nanjing Iveco, BAIC Foton and Xiamen Kinglong. The five companies combined sold 21,958 units of light buses, which take up for 71.35% of the total in the sector.

Compared with the same period last year, the top three all witnessed some downward movement. Jinbei and JMC, in particular, went down by over 10%. BAIC Foton and Xiamen Kinglong, in contrast, both realized postive growth when comparing with their sales volumes registered in Apr. this year or May last year. It is also worth mentioning that Xiamen Kinglong delivered an impressive performance, growing by 40.39% against Apr. this year and 36.63% against the same period last year.

 


In May, the sales volume of non-whole-body light buses stood at 5,310 units, up by 2.45% month on month and down by 11.41% year on year. The top four winners are Dongfeng Automobile, Anhui Jianghuai, Fujian Forta, Nanjing Iveco. The four companies took up the whole market share of the non-whole-body light buses in May.
