www.chinabuses.org: According to the latest statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), the nation rolled out 49,755 units of buses in May, up slightly by 0.72% against Apr. and up by 1.91% against the same period last year. In the meantime, the country sold 48,726 units of buses, down by 1.36% against Apr. and down by 2.97% against the same period last year. Specifically, the sales volumes of large-, medium-sized and light buses stood at 6,485, 6,157, 36,084 units respectively, accounting for 13.31%, 12.64% and 74.05% of the overall sales volume in the industry. 




The Sales of Large-sized Buses:
In May, the sales volume of large-sized buses (including non-whole-body vehicles) registered at 6,485 units, down by 3.05% against Apr. and down by 17.90% against the same period last year. The top five winners are Zhengzhou Yutong, Xiamen Kinglong, Suzhou Higer, BAIC Foton and Shanghai Sunwin. The sales of the five companies combined stood at 4,479 units, accounting for 69.07% of the sales in the whole sector. Also worth noting is that Xiamen Kinglong and BAIC Foton recorded month-on-month negative growth, down by 3.78% and 6.64% respectively. Shanghai Sunwin, which managed to sell 513 units of large-sized buses (up by 90.64% against Apr.), squeezed out Xiamen Golden Dragon and made its way into the top five. Compared with the sales recorded in the same period last year, the top three companies all saw some downward movement. In sharp contrast, BAIC Foton witnessed an explosive growth with a year-on-year growth rate of 143.84%.

The Sales of Medium-sized Buses:
In May, the sales volume of medium-sized buses (including non-whole-body vehicles) registered at 6,157 units, up by 19.25% against Apr. and down by 12.06% against the same period last year. The top five winners are Zhengzhou Yutong, Anhui Jianghuai, Suzhou Higer, Dongfeng Automobile, and Xiamen Kinglong. The sales of the five companies combined stood at 4,288 units, accounting for 69.64% of the sales in the whole sector. Also worth noting is that Zhengzhou Yutong and Dongfeng Automobile, which recorded month-on-month negative growth, also saw their sales down by 17.40% and 41.08% respectively year on year. Anhui Jianghuai, Suzhou Higer and Xiamen Golden Dragon all witnessed upward movement on a month-on-month and year-on-year basis.

The Sales of Light Buses:
In May, the sales volume of light buses (including non-whole-body vehicles) registered at 36,084 units, down by 3.89% against Apr. and up by 2.16% against the same period last year. The top five winners are Jinbei Automobile, JMC, Nanjing Iveco, Dongfeng Automobile and BAIC Foton. The sales of the five companies combined stood at 23,379 units, accounting for 64.79% of the sales in the whole sector. Also worth noting is that among the top five performers, only BAIC Foton saw their sales up by 9.65% year on year.
