www.chinabuses.org: According to the latest data released by CAAM, China produced and sold 52,266 and 52,603 buses respectively in Mar. 2014, up by 69.79% and 70.41% against the previous month, up by 14.64% and 13.07% compared with those in the same period last year. The sales volume of large-sized, medium-sized and light-weight buses reached 6,926, 5,038 and 40,639 units respectively, accounting for 13.17%, 9.58% and 77.26% of the total market share.


The sales volume of large-sized buses:

6,926 large-sized buses (including non-whole-body vehicles) were sold in Mar., 2014, up by 154.17% against Feb. and 18.47% year-on-year. The top five large-sized bus makers include Zhengzhou Yutong, Beiqi Foton, Xiamen Kinglong, Suzhou Higer, and Xiamen Golden Dragon. The sales volume of the top five combined totaled 4,493, accounting for 64.87% of the overall sales volume of large-sized buses. Compared with the figures in the previous month, the top five all realized positive growth. In comparison with the figures in Mar., 2013, only Beiqi Foton and Zhengzhou Yutong saw positive growth with their sales volume up by staggering 300.60% and 45.09% respectively.


The sales volume of medium-sized buses:

In Mar., 2014, China sold 5,038 medium-sized buses (including non-whole-body vehicles), up by 34.81% against Feb. and down by 7.56% against the same period last year. The five biggest winners in the area are Zhengzhou Yutong, Dongfeng Automobile, Anhui Jianghuai, Xiamen Kinglong and Suzhou Higer. Together, they sold 3,508 units, accounting for 69.63% of the total sales volume. In terms of growth rate, Yutong is the only one which realized year-on-year growth (7.41%) among the five and Anhui Jianghuai delivered the worst performance with both negative month-on-month and year-on-year growth (20.66% and 4.91% respectively). 
     

The sales volume of light-weight buses:

In Mar. this year, light-weight buses (including non-whole-body vehicles) sold reached 40,639 units, up by 66.51% against Feb. and up by 15.37% against Mar. in 2013. The best five performers are Jinbei Vehicle, Jiangling Motors, Nanjing Iveco, Beijing Foton and Dongfeng. The total sales volume of the five mentioned above numbered 28,681, making up for 70.58% of the total. In addition, the five bus-makers all saw positive growth against Feb. this year. Compared with the figures at the same time last year, only Jiangling Motors and Nanjing Iveco went down slightly (down by 0.49% and 2.83% respectively).
