From above data, it is seen that, in the segment bus markets, the growth rate of city buses was 1.67 percent, which was the lowest one among them and also lower than the growth rate of the overall bus industry (3.7 percent). Sleeper bus' growth rate was in negative and its market share in the overall bus industry was only 0.25 percent.


However, the city buses, the sales volumes of which were 70,383 units, which accounted for 27.6 percent in the overall bus industry, which becomes a big factor to influence the growth of the overall bus industry.

In the segment of city buses, 11m-12m long city bus segment is the biggest one, which accounts for nearly 46.3 percent. 11m-12m long city buses are the main bus models in the large & medium cities’ main roads. Due to the high cost-performance ratio of the 11m-12m long city buses, they are the main bus models purchased by the cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Tianjin, Nanjing, Shenyang, Chengdu, and Chongqing etc cities.


The market share of 11m-12m city buses increased by 10.4 percent, from 23.7 percent in 2011 to 34.14 percent in 2012, which was the uncommon growth phenomenon in recent years. The 11m-12m city buses are now becoming more and more important part in the product structure of city buses.
