In the respects of sales proportion, Large High One ranks top (54.24%), Large Medium takes 29.75%, Large High Two takes 13.62% and Large High Three takes 2.39%. Large High One and Large Medium occupy 83.99% together. In other words, the products below Large High One are the main body of the 11-12 meter highway buses and also that of the market demand of large highway bus market. 

 

Analysis of Major Configuration of 11-12 meter highway Buses:



According to the data, the China-made components take about 54% for 11-12 meter highway buses currently with the price of 500,000~600,000 Yuan. The customers have different requirements based on the actual function: around 60~70% of the buses are applied in the transport with the operation range of 200~300 kilometer; Large Medium (mostly for group users);Large High One (tourist coaches covering the driving range of about 300 kilometers ) and long-haul passenger transport above 300 kilometers (the customers usually have high demand on safety and choose imported option concerning some key assembly parts such as engine, clutch, steering system and ABS). As for the extra long-haul transport market above 500km, almost all the users require high safety and imported products referring to engine, transmission, front/rear axel, braking , steering, suspension (front two/rear four), retarder, ABS, automatic automobile braking clearance slack adjuster, possibly ASR and huge luggage capacity. As for the 11-12 meter sleeper buses, it highly demands on the number of sleepers and the safety of bedding. As for the high class sleeper buses, all imported parts (engine, transmission, clutch, steering, front/rear axel and independent suspension) are equipped. The number of such products with Large High Three is not big.

 

According to JT/T325-2010 “Type dividing and class ration for public bus” in 2010, the automatic extinguishers should be equipped in the bus rear engine compartment; temperature warning or automatic extinguishers should be prepared by the electrical eddy current rail brake; emergency hammers (heavier than 170g) and warning device are required. Air purifier are required for sleeper buses (air volume: above 10m3/h) and some models have to be based on the monocoque body. It clearly defines that the buses with Large High Two and above (body length above 11 meters) are made on monocoque body. Therefore, many builders have complied with the new standard. However, the new regulation starts at 1 November 2011, the most products accord with the previous standard.
