Summarize:

www.chinabuses.org: China bus export made recovery growth as the recovering global economy. According statistics from China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), 23,300 large and medium coaches were exported from January to July, up 77.06% over last year, and export revenues were 626,000,000 USD, up 93.71%. And main domestic bus builders had their export markets increased over 100%, such Higer, Sunlong, Kinglong, and Zhongtong. In addition, the export markets featured the following characteristics:

Free trade agreement plays an important role

Our main export markets are still developing countries in Africa, Asia and South America. And some traditional bus export areas are recovering greatly, especially Southeast Asia and South America. As establishment of China-Asean Free Trade Area, the rigid ASEAN bus markets is opening gradually. And China has signed free trade agreement with Chile and Peru, the advantages will be greater with lower barriers for investment and tariffs.

China buses to be exported to western countries

Previously China buses never entered western countries, and there are more and more China bus builders entering these countries as their mature technology and craftsmanship. Twelve Kinglong newly developed XMQ6130Y luxurious tourist coaches were exported to Italy. Eleven Ankai double deckers with open ceiling were exported to Long Beach in July 1 with single bus valuing 2 million RMB.

"China buses and coaches are good enough to export to western countries, and the biggest obstacles are approval, ”an industry insider was quoted as saying.

New energy buses features bus export

In March, Kinglong Bus exported 61 CNG buses to Chile, and these are the first CNG buses running in the country. Hybrid buses from Kinglong and Sunlong, hydrogen fuel cell buses produced by Higer were exported to Singapore.

Li Guojun, general manager assistant of Ankai International Company said that they are rather cautious about exporting new energy buses, and everything is under survey. There are really some difficulties to market for their comparatively high prices, so it is rather important to get government subsidies. And supporting facility like reharging stations need to be established by local government.

It is learned that Singapore supported new energy buses with great efforts. And they are going to be the world biggest new energy hub till 2015 by encouraging hybrid and pure electric cars.

Currently the technologies for new energy buses are not mature and stability for battery and electronic control system need to be improved.

KD plants are bound to be established

Foton signed contract of intention with Taiwan Chengyun Automobile for 75 Foton AUV hybrid buses on June 20, 2009. and the buses will be assembled with KD mode for policy constraints of complete vehicles in Taiwan. And it is learned that Yutong Bus is also going to deploy KD programs in Taiwan.

Many countries realized the importance of establishing their own auto industry, so they are raising tariffs for auto import sharply in recent years. Many developing countries are welcoming foreign auto makers to set plants locally to drive their own auto industry. For domestic bus builders, they can find much cheaper tariffs for exporting spare parts then complete vehicles. However, some China bus manufacturers are not that standardization, and they still need some time to start KD business.
