Chart 5: analysis of exporting volume of domestic bus companies in the first quarter in 2010 (Unit: Vehicle)

After 2007, the exporting sales of buses dropped in two successive years and accounted for less than 7% in 2009. In the first quarter 2010, the exporting of buses turn obviously better and the exporting volume takes more than 10% in the total sales. As the great bus manufacturing country in the world, the market distribution that 90% products are consumed in China is not scientific. On the one hand, the development of China bus companies is limited. On the other hand, the overseas customers are not able to enjoy the achievement of the fast growing of China buses.

By comparison of table 1 and 5, the domestic sales growth volume is 13,154, taking 84.49% of the total and the exporting sales growth volume is 2,414, taking 15.51% of the total. Although it only amounts for 10% of the total sales, however, the exporting growth volume can reach 15% in the total growth.

Chart 6: the analysis of domestic sales in the first quarter in 2010

Shown above:

1. The growth range of exporting is 2.44 times more than that in domestic market.

In the first quarter, the domestic demand is still the important base for the developing of bus industry, because the sales and production of buses exported only take 10.33% in the total.

2. The proportion of road buses is increasing in the exporting.

Based on exporting structure, the exporting of road buses mainly focuses on large-sized and medium-sized buses. Shown in table 6, it has a big change for road buses in exporting proportion in the first quarter (32.39% currently, more 12.85 percentage than that over the same period in 2009). The exporting growth rate of road buses come to 301.20%.

3. The exporting of medium-sized buses has biggest growth range but it still need to be improved.

Different from domestic market, medium-sized buses always perform not well in exporting. Although the related growth rate (259.35%) is higher than large-sized and light buses, yet medium-sized buses take the smallest proportion. (Large: 36.86%; Light: 38.85%). In China, Large: 32.91%; Medium: 38.26%; Light: 28.83%. In fact, medium-sized buses are the Chinese buses with the most features. It means a big difference when the proportion of medium-sized buses takes over large-sized and light buses in exporting.
