Figure 1 Sales statistics of bus from 2007-2009

It can be seen from above that:

1. There were two clear stages for China bus industry in the previous three years. The first stage was first half of 2007 till the same period in 2008. Chins bus builders were finishing upgrade of technology and craftsmanship and they started to explore overseas markets. And the second stage was from second half of 2008 to now, there were some record high sales volumes by the Olympic Games and in late 2009, china bus industry were severely influenced by global financial crisis, and currently it is under difficult structural adjustment periods.

2. Bus industry is influenced by seasons much.

3. Sales of domestic markets were clearly lower than the previous two years, especially February.

1. Sales volumes of buses in Dec. 2009 were 23,293 units, up 53% month on month and 45% year on year. The big surge of sales volumes this month shows that overall recovery of bus industry has started as financial crisis fades.

2. Sales of minibuses were 6,536 units, down 10% month on month and up 73% year on year. And it may be due to that call-back of previous consumption.

Figure 4 Sales statistics of all lengths minibus in Dec. 2009

It can be seen from above that:

 1. Sales volumes of minibus between 3.5~5m were 955 units in December last year, up 29% month on month and 33% year on year. New policy this year stimulates needs for minibuses, but it also encountered some distempered factors and the financial crisis; in this case we need further look on when recovery.

2. Sales volumes of minibus between 5~6m were 1,919 units in December last year, up 7% month on month and 178% year on year. Sales volumes of minibus between 5~6m increased for four consecutive months last year. Market needs in the previous two years were not good, and its needs saw clear growth in the overall bad market performance. This is for government policy of advocating small displacement vehicles and internal needs recovery.

3. Sales volumes of minibus between 6~7m were 3,622 units in December last year, up -33% month on month and 59% year on year. This is the most sales volumes among the mentioned three lengths. Since the advanced performance of consumption in Nov., so sales volumes in this month is decreased a little bit. And this is also the most competitive lengths of minibuses.
