CATL Europe Officially Starts Construction

On October 18, CATL Europe, the first overseas factory of CATL in the overseas market, which is located in Thueringen, Germany, officially started construction. It is a huge step forward for the battery manufacturer in its global expansion. In addition, the manufacturing of lithium batteries in the local market will inject new dynamics to the auto industry in Germany.

Covering a total area of 23 hectares , CATL Europe is scheduled to start operation in 2022 with an annual production capacity of 14GWh batteries.

Matthias Zentgraf, president of CATL Europe, has full confidence in CATL’s development in Germany and Europe, saying the company will significantly push forward the electrification process of the vehicle industry in Europe.
