Located in west Africa, Sierra Leone was once a colony of Britain. It gained its independence in 1961 and officially established diplomatic ties with China in 1971. Known for its mining industry, especially diamond mining, Sierra Leone established comprehensive strategic cooperative ties with China in December, 2016. In recent years, thanks to China’s Belt Road Initiative, the two countries have been working more closely in various fields with impressive achievements.

On April 4, 2018, Julius Maada Bio became the new president of Sierra Leone. And the new administration put the improvement of the country’s public well-fare and transport networks as its top priorities. Not long after the new president came into power, the administration made the decision to buy 200 units city buses and intercity buses to better the public transport networks in the country’s capital city Freetown and its neighbouring areas.

As the largest city in Sierra Leone, Freetown is located by the sea and boasts the best port in west Africa. Due to the local weather conditions, the city has extremely high standards for vehicles’ agility, power performance and anti-corrosiveness.

After a thorough research, Sierra Leone was very attracted by Golden Dragon’s high-quality products, unparalleled after-sales services and favorable prices. Finally, it decided to place orders on Golden Dragon. Since 2008, Golden Dragon has exported over 30,000 units buses to African market and has established its presence in 35 countries on the continent.

According to Kabineh Kallon, Sierra Leone’s Transport Minister, Golden Dragon has a solid reputation in his country. He also hopes that China and his country will further strengthen their cooperation in the public transport area.

Committed to providing the highest quality buses and coaches for its customers, Golden Dragon has been gaining rising popularity in the overseas market. To meet bus operator’s special requirements in Sierra Leone, the bus maker conducted several rounds of researches of the local operating conditions and optimized its products. Moreover, it sent a professional team to the country to provide training sessions for drivers to ensure the smooth operation of its vehicles.

As a subsidiary of King Long Motor Group, Golden Dragon boasts a wide spectrum of buses and coaches. So far, it has exported over 60,000 units buses and coaches to the overseas market.(www.chinabuses.org)
